NOWhere: An Anthology by Chinese Adoptees is inviting Chinese adoptees to submit poetry, prose, personal essays, fiction and nonfiction, inspired by the adoption experience, for consideration.
General Information
UPDATE: SUBMISSIONS ARE CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTED. This project is on hold indefinitely.
ENTRY FEE: None.
OPEN TO WHOM? Chinese Adoptees.

We are keen on reading fresh ways of capturing your adoption experience. Your protagonist or antagonist, or even a passing character could be a Chinese adoptee. The structure could be, for example, an essay, a dialogue, or a haiku. It’s up to you. We are looking for pieces that convey an experience, emotion, or, a point of view, that may resonate with other adoptees, and perhaps bring them comfort, a new perspective, or camaraderie. We do not want to read any erotica, stories about animal torture, or that contain gratuitous violence. We are not accepting previously published pieces (this includes pieces published on blogs), or simultaneous submissions.
DEADLINE: Tentatively, 23 July, 2023*
WORD COUNT: 3000 words max.
FORMAT: WORD doc only. No images. No tabs, except in poetry. Please use the return key throughout the document in all other submissions.
